Hello everybody my name is John Daly and I created, developed and grew John Daly Refrigerated Foods ltd into the top 3 food distribution companies on the Island of Ireland with a turn over of €14m pa. We had a wonderful time doing this and I worked with some of the finest staff and management one could have. (Always a few disappointments) It was extremely hard work sourcing products building brands and delivering them in a condition fit for sale. Would you believe most of the products had between 7 days and 10 days shelf life. It was really demanding and I spent a lot of time away from my lovely wife and two children, so in 2005, I set about selling John Daly Foods Ltd. I had lots interested parties but sold to the good people in Breeo Foods (Dairygold) in August 2006. I had signed a non compete clause so was un able to work (in food industry) and decided to do a business degree fulltime in Galway Business Schools through the University of Wales. I currently have a HND in Business and will be doing my degree in 2010. I would recommend adult education to any one of you, although it was hard work it was also great fun (Craic).
So now that one can work again, what do you do but go back to what you know best and that is food. I met Susan Carey from Carton Brothers and started back selling and distributing Manor Farm chickens to retailers and food service in Galway, and through this Irelandfood.ie is born 2009.
I still have my large cold rooms in Dublin and Galway and hope to develop the business into a national and UK operation.
If you can help me on this journey I would greatly appreciate it, and thank you for this help, maybe you are looking for national distribution, or just looking for a job with Irelandfood.ie and develop us into a player of choice for good food companies.
